Basketball Recap: LaGrange Takes a Loss

If LaGrange was feeling good fresh off their 54-17 takedown of Whitewater last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The LaGrange Grangers lost 66-44 to the Trinity Christian Lions on Tuesday. The Grangers have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Trinity Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Elyse Norris, who went 8 of 13 on her way to 20 points in addition to eight assists and five boards. Norris has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Another player making a difference was Reese Anderson, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 boards.

LaGrange's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Trinity Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. LaGrange will square off against Troup County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Trinity Christian, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Trinity Christian Lions face off against the Whitewater Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Trinity Christian is facing Whitewater at the right time seeing as Whitewater is stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
