Baseball Recap: Bluffton Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Bluffton ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Wabash Apaches 5-4. The victory was familiar territory for the Tigers, who have now won three contests in a row.

Axton Beste made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Beste was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024.

Beste wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Aaron Streveler, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Bluffton pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Wabash, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.
