Recap: Gateway Gators vs. Drew Dragons

The Gateway Gators had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They managed a 63-59 win over Drew on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Drew's loss came despite strong showings from Teo Kimball-Directo and Kian Chan. Kimball-Directo scored 23 points along with six rebounds and three blocks, while Chan scored 18 points along with five assists and two steals. That was a full 39% of Drew's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Ben Matus was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds and two blocks.

Gateway's win bumped their record up to 4-11. As for Drew, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gateway the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome San Francisco Waldorf at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. San Francisco Waldorf will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Drew, they will be playing in front of their home fans against International at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. International is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
