The biggest upset of the week belonged to South, who took down 480th ranked Lawndale, 21-7.
The Spartans moved up to 603 from 670 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Pioneer. South climbed the ranks as a result of topping the Cardinals 21-7.
El Segundo's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Lars Nootbaar threw for 108 and 3 touchdowns and Jamie Stewart had 66 yards receiving. On the ground Dathan Baliey contributed 72 yards. Nick Karsseboom helped El Segundo's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 29 yards.
Nootbaar put up the best numbers in passing as the Eagles defeated North. Nootbaar's favorite target this week was Stewart, who caught 4 passes for 66 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, El Segundo's Nootbaar and Stewart have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-2 quarterback Nootbaar has thrown for 1,473 yards this season, while Stewart has 38 catches for 779 yards. Johnny Bailey from Centennial leads the league in rushing with 483 yards.
One of the league's premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when Steve Shevlin's team and the Apaches face off next week.
The Eagles are currently in first, while Centennial is in sixth.
El Segundo was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from third to first in Pioneer. Earlier in the week, the Eagles triumphed over the Saxons 33-12.
