Softball Recap: East Hampton Bellringers vs. Valley Regional Warriors
East Hampton couldn't beat Valley Regional on Thursday even though they stacked five runs on them in the fifth inning. The Bellringers lost 12-5 to the Warriors. The loss continues a trend for the Bellringers in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost five in a row.
Allison Jacobsen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and seven unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, Emily Jovel made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Amelia Chrin, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
East Hampton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Valley Regional, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-4.
