On Thursday, Benton faced St. Teresa's Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Benton Cardinals took a 62-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Teresa's Academy Stars. The Cardinals' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

St. Teresa's Academy was led to victory by Jazlyn Rhodes and Nora Roddy. Rhodes shot 47% from the field to rack up 26 points in addition to seven assists and six steals, while Roddy almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine boards. Rhodes continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lauren Rando, who posted eight points.

Benton's defeat dropped their record down to 17-6. As for St. Teresa's Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Benton nor St. Teresa's Academy have any future games scheduled.
