Football Recap: Mesa Verde Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Mesa Verde extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 3-5. They took a blow against the Golden Sierra Grizzlies, falling 45-14. The Mavericks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-7.

Although Mesa Verde took the loss, they still got scores from Triton Robinson and D'Mani Block.

Even if they lost, Mesa Verde's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Block was especially locked on to Golden Sierra's QB and sacked him twice.

As for Golden Sierra, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2. Considering they have won four contests by more than 22 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Golden Sierra's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Andrew Gerondakis led the charge by throwing for 315 yards and five TDs while completing 81% of his passes, and also punching in one score on the ground. Cody McCoard helped Gerondakis out on the ground, picking up 91 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 42 yards.

Mesa Verde wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 35-28 defeat against Lindhurst on the 24th. As for Golden Sierra, they have also already played their next game, a 28-22 win against Rio Vista on the 24th.
