Softball Recap: Winnebago Lutheran Academy Comes Up Short

Winnebago Lutheran Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 6-2 to the St. Mary's Springs Ledgers. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Ledgers when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Winnebago Lutheran Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addyson Suprenand, who went 2-for-4 with one double. That double marked the first that Suprenand hit this season.

Winnebago Lutheran Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for St. Mary's Springs, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2.

Looking ahead, Winnebago Lutheran Academy will venture away from home to challenge Mayville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. As for St. Mary's Springs, they will be playing at home against Omro at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Foxes have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.43 runs per game on average), something the Ledgers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
