Softball Recap: Wewahitchka Gators vs. Vernon Yellowjackets
Wewahitchka was the 11-0 winner over Vernon when they last played one another back in April of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Gators fell just short of the Yellowjackets by a score of 8-7 on Tuesday. Gators fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Yellowjackets since on Tuesday.
Laiken Ferrell and Paityn Suber did some serious damage despite the final result: Ferrell went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple, while Suber scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Aubry Bailey also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
