Softball Recap: Ridgedale Takes a Loss

After flying high against Cory-Rawson on Tuesday, Ridgedale came back down to earth. The Rockets fell just short of the Colonel Crawford Eagles by a score of 5-3 on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Rockets in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost six in a row.

Hannah Murphy made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Brooke Shipley, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI.

Ridgedale's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Colonel Crawford, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 14-7.

Coming up, Ridgedale will square off against River Valley at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Rockets' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Colonel Crawford, they will face off against Buckeye Central at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
