Baseball Recap: Fresno Christian Comes Up Short

Fresno Christian started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Woodlake. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 7-6 on Monday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Braden Belmont made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. He has become a key player for Fresno Christian: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 7-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Joseph Davila, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Fresno Christian's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Woodlake, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.

Coming up, Fresno Christian will host Sierra at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chieftains will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. As for Woodlake, they will venture away from home to square off against Granite Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
