Football Game Preview: Appalachian Eagles vs. Marion County Red Raiders + How To Watch

The Appalachian Eagles will take on the Marion County Red Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Appalachian is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Appalachian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 74-6 win over Shoals Christian. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by 21 points or more this season.

Appalachian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Colton Caldwell, who rushed for 67 yards and two TDs, and also threw for 188 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Pierson Massey was in the mix as well, providing the Eagles with two scores.

Appalachian didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Shoals Christian to a completion percentage of just 21.9%. The Eagles have been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.58 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.58 in their last three games.

Appalachian's defense also made the game a nightmare for Gus Strickland, racking up 11 sacks. Asher Brown refused to say out of the backfield, picking up three sacks all by himself.

Meanwhile, Marion County didn't have too much trouble with Winterboro on Friday as they won 36-22.

Appalachian's record now sits at 11-0. As for Marion County, their record is now 8-3.
