Football Recap: Monument Mountain Spartans vs. Franklin County Tech Eagles

Monument Mountain lost a close one when they played last Friday but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on Friday was a bit more commanding. They were outmatched by the Franklin County Tech Eagles on the road and fell 50-16. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Spartans have suffered since November 3, 2023.

Josiah Little was his usual excellent self, rushing for 271 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per carry for Franklin County Tech. Little showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 66 yards. Another back making a difference was Maxon Brunette, who rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown.

This is the second loss in a row for Monument Mountain and nudges their season record down to 4-4. As for Franklin County Tech, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1.

Monument Mountain does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Franklin County Tech, they have the luxury of staying home for another week and will welcome Assabet Valley RVT at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Franklin County Tech's defense has only allowed 12.3 points per game this season, so Assabet Valley RVT's offense will have their work cut out for them.
