Volleyball Recap: Murrieta Mesa Starts off Right with Win over La Costa Canyon

Murrieta Mesa had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the La Costa Canyon Mavericks as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

While Murrieta Mesa won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-23, 25-20.

Airyss Celestine paced Murrieta Mesa's offense, picking up 11 kills. Celestine got some help from Analei Bradley and her 28 assists. Savannah White controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

Murrieta Mesa has already played their next contest (against King), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for La Costa Canyon, they will face off against Santa Fe Christian at 6:00 p.m. on the 21st.
