Mumford's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 35-28 win over the Renaissance Phoenix. The high-scoring effort was just what the Mustangs needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Mumford's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Renaissance, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Coming up, Mumford will be playing at home against Southeastern at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Jungaleers' defense has only allowed 12.7 points per game this season, so the Mustangs' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Renaissance, they will head out on the road to challenge Ferndale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Phoenix surely won't give up without a fight.
