Baseball Recap: Whitko Comes Up Short

Whitko started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against South Adams. They came up short against the Starfires on Saturday, falling 16-4. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Riley Harman was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Whitko's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is 3-1 (and 8-9 when he doesn't). Hunter Long also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Whitko's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for South Adams, their win bumped their record up to 4-16.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Starfires beat Whitko by a score of 9-8 later that day.
