Basketball Recap: Cummings Cavaliers vs. Bartlett Yancey Buccaneers

Given Cummings' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 236th, while the Buccaneers are ranked 522nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cummings' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kobie Stadler, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 0 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stadler has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ja'Kari Dobbins, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Bartlett Yancey lost, one person who can't be blamed is Matthew Sidney. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Sidney is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last nine games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelmontrae Willis, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for Cummings and bumps their season record up to 8-5. As for Bartlett Yancey, they dropped their record down to 4-9 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.
