Baseball Game Preview: Lubbock-Cooper Pirates vs. Argyle Eagles

The Lubbock-Cooper Pirates will take on the Argyle Eagles on Saturday. The last three games Lubbock-Cooper has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Lubbock-Cooper is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They never let Horizon get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Scorpions: they've now won three in a row.

Six must be Argyle's lucky number: they beat Mansfield Timberview with that score not once but twice on Thursday. The Eagles beat the Wolves by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 6-2. The win was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on four straight.

Lubbock-Cooper's record now sits at 29-14. As for Argyle, their record is now 17-9.

Lubbock-Cooper couldn't quite finish off Argyle when the teams last played back in June of 2023 and fell 5-3. Can the Pirates avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
