Vicksburg hadn't done well against Lakeshore recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Monday. The Bulldogs came out on top against the Lancers by a score of  4-1. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the   10-1 victory the Lancers walked away with the last time they faced one another  back in May of 2021.
 Allison Truckey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on ten hits and racked up eight Ks.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Emily Zemitans, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with one  home run, three  runs,  and two  RBI.  Kayla Chisholm was another key player,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with one  double and one  RBI.
Vicksburg has  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-16 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lakeshore, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-5.
Vicksburg will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lancers: the pair will be back at it again later today.
