Baseball Recap: Susquehanna Valley Comes Up Short

Susquehanna Valley blew Waverly out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday Waverly got their revenge. The Sabers fell just short of the Wolverines by a score of 3-1. The Sabers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolverines apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2019.

Susquehanna Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trey Swartwout, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Swartwout is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played.

This is the second loss in a row for Susquehanna Valley and nudges their season record down to 8-4. As for Waverly, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Susquehanna Valley will head out to face off against Norwich at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Waverly, they will challenge Oneonta at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
