Baseball Recap: Lord Botetourt Drops Highest Score of Season Against Heritage

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lord Botetourt). They never let the Heritage Pioneers get on the board and left with a 19-0 victory on Monday. With that win, the Cavaliers brought their scoring average up to 7.1 runs per game.

Brady Kish was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Gavin Walker was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, three runs, and one triple. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isaac Nichols, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Lord Botetourt was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Lord Botetourt's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Heritage, their defeat was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lord Botetourt will face off against William Byrd at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cavaliers are facing the Terriers at the right time seeing as the Terriers are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Heritage, they will square off against King's Fork at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
