Softball Recap: King's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

King made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Freedom, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The King Lions blew past the Freedom Patriots 19-9 on Tuesday. The Lions' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Madeline Millican and Angelina Mendoza did most of the damage at the plate: Millican got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one triple, while Mendoza scored four runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. That's the most RBI Millican has posted since back in April of 2024. Ajab Janoowalla was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of her six plate appearances.

The win snapped King's losing streak at six games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-5 record. As for Freedom, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 1-5.

King has already played their next game, an 18-3 victory against Middleton on the 6th. As for Freedom, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 15-5 loss against Tampa Bay Tech on the 6th.
