Baseball Game Preview: Sandy Pioneers vs. Sprague Olympians

The Sandy Pioneers will head out to face off against the Sprague Olympians at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Sandy has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Sandy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Oregon's top teams: Tualatin, who was ranked 14th at the time (Sandy was ranked second). The Pioneers wound up with the same score they had in their last game (3-2), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. The game marked their lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Sandy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nate Reel, who scored a run while going 2-for-5.

Meanwhile, Sprague unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Tigard by a score of 5-4.

Sprague's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Sandy, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Sandy couldn't quite get it done against Sprague when the teams last played back in May of 2023 as they fell 4-1. Can the Pioneers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
