WPIAL AAA Parkway recap September 24, 2013

West Allegheny extended the longest winning streak in WPIAL AAA Parkway this week by beating Hopewell, 55-0. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Indians.

West Allegheny took down the Vikings 55-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Tyler Carswell was the best wideout in the league this week as Montour lost to New Castle. Carswell tallied 2 receptions for 34 yards.

Tynen Greer was a passing and rushing force as the Spartans fell to the Hurricanes. He completed 4 passes for 54 yards and also ran for 111 yards.

Greer was the most successful running back in the league this week. Teammate Cole Macek added to the ground attack by rushing for 80 yards.

Stephan McGinnis put up the best numbers through the air as Ambridge lost to Moon Area. He finished with 4 completions for 53 yards. McGinnis' favorite target this week was Joe Iorfido, who caught 2 passes for 25 yards.

5-foot-8 quarterback McGinnis of the Bridgers is the league leader in passing yards this season with 367. He has also thrown 2 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is DJ Payne. The Montour star has 10 catches for 160 yards.

The most important game in WPIAL AAA Parkway this week will be the match up between Bob Palko's team and Central Valley. The Indians enters the contest ranked 12th in the state, while the Warriors ranks 20th.

One of the league's premier quarterbacks will go head-to-head with its top pass rusher when Ambridge and Montour face off next week.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when West Allegheny takes on Central Valley. The Indians have allowed 26 points this season, while Mark Lyons' team has given up 6. West Allegheny allowed 0 points last week as it topped Hopewell.

The league will see a high scoring game when the Indians and the Warriors face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, West Allegheny comes in having scored 106 this season, while Central Valley has scored 116. The Indians scored 55 points last week as they defeated Dave Vestal's team.
