Softball Game Preview: Jordan-Elbridge Eagles vs. Cazenovia Lakers

The Jordan-Elbridge Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Cazenovia Lakers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cazenovia took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Jordan-Elbridge, who comes in off a win.

On Monday, Jordan-Elbridge was able to grind out a solid win over Weedsport, taking the game 5-2. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Wolverines recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Abby DelFavero made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). DelFavero was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

DelFavero wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brooke Chiaramonte, who went 2-for-4 with one run. Annabella D'Arrigo was another, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

East Syracuse-Minoa hit Cazenovia with a five-run second inning last Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Lakers came up short against the Spartans, falling 12-4.

Irie Gallerani spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and ten unearned) runs on 11 hits.

Cazenovia's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Jordan-Elbridge, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
