Basketball Recap: Blountstown Snags Seventh Win in Last Eight Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Blountstown had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Malone with a sharp 61-35 victory. Blountstown has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 17 matches by 26 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Blountstown to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cyianna Smith, who dropped a double-double with 29 points and ten rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Smith has scored at least a third of Blountstown's points. Another player making a difference was Jalynn Copeland, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten boards.

Blountstown smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 15 offensive boards in six consecutive contests.

Blountstown is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 17.1 points over those games. As for Malone, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers duke it out with the Wildcats at 1:00 p.m. on February 26th. Wildwood will roll in looking for their 24th straight win, something Blountstown surely won't give up without a fight. Malone does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
