Softball Recap: Westview Warriors vs. Bremen Lions
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Churubusco, Westview was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top against the Bremen Lions by a score of 8-3. The Warriors have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.
Janissa Lehman made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Myra Miller was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Ava Gilbert was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs.
Westview kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 7-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
With the win, Westview broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-7. As for Bremen, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-15.
Westview wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 14-10 loss against Wheeler on the 17th. As for Bremen, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-7 victory against Concord on the 17th.
