Basketball Recap: Cloverleaf Colts vs. Barberton Magics
Cloverleaf had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They enjoyed a cozy 52-36 win over the Barberton Magics. The victory was some much needed relief for the Colts as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Cloverleaf was led to victory by Evie Barth and Mackenzie Seiwerth. Barth went 6 for 14 en route to 16 points plus three steals, while Seiwerth earned 12 points along with four steals. What's more, Seiwerth also racked up four threes, the most she's had since back in November of 2023. Madi Young was another key player, posting two points along with four steals.
Cloverleaf has already played their next game, a 72-36 win against Springfield on the 26th. As for Barberton, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Roosevelt at 7:00 p.m. on December 4th.
