Sumner proved they can win big last Monday (they won by three) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Bethel Bison. The victory was nothing new for the Spartans as they're now sitting on five straight.

Sumner took Bethel into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-21, 26-16, 23-25, 15-11.

Bryn Kastberg paced Sumner's offense, picking up 20 kills. Kastberg got some help from Brooke Anardi and her 34 assists. Jada Foster controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

When it comes to explaining why Bethel lost, don't look at Kailub Munoz. Despite the final result, she had 29 digs and eight aces. Another player making a difference was Kinsley Guirsch, who had 13 digs.

Sumner's record is now 5-0. As for Bethel, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
