Softball Game Preview: Bethel Park Black Hawks vs. Connellsville Falcons

For the second straight game, Bethel Park will face off against Connellsville. The Black Hawks will welcome the Falcons at 12:00 p.m. on Monday.

Bethel Park fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Connellsville on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 6-5.

For Connellsville's part, Kendal King spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on 11 hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, Connellsville let Maggie Orndorff and Cali Leichliter run wild. Orndorff went 2-for-5 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run, while Leichliter went 3-for-5 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run. That triple marked the first that Orndorff has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalyn Cole, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Connellsville's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Bethel Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.
