Baseball Recap: Hoffman Estates Comes Up Short

Hoffman Estates had lost nine straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 9-25 to make it ten. They lost 7-0 to the Libertyville Wildcats. If the Hawks were looking for revenge after losing 9-2 to the Wildcats when the teams met back in April of 2019, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Libertyville, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 30-4. Considering they have won 19 games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Libertyville's part, Anthony Fry looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Fry has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Libertyville let Carson Holmes and Bode Rohrbach run wild. Holmes went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI, while Rohrbach went 2-for-3 with one home run and one double. That home run was Rohrbach's first of the season. Trevor Wallace was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As of now, neither Hoffman Estates nor Libertyville have any future games scheduled.
