Soccer Game Preview: California vs. Dougherty Valley

The California Grizzlies are taking a road trip to take on the Dougherty Valley Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. California's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Dougherty Valley will have to contend with a California team hungry for a victory, something the squad hasn't seen since the 14th. Neither California nor Livermore could gain the upper hand on Tuesday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, Dougherty Valley came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 goals) and they left with even more momentum. They had just enough and edged the Mustangs out 3-2. The Wildcats' winning goal came courtesy of Armon Alboudwarej.

Dougherty Valley's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those six games. With that draw, California's record moves to 8-5-5.
