Salpointe Catholic has gone 9-1 against Rincon/University recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Salpointe Catholic Lancers will head out to square off against the Rincon/University Rangers at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Salpointe Catholic never let Prescott onto the board and left with an 8-0 win on Friday. Leo Gutierrez was a massive factor in the win as he booted in five goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Rincon/University hadn't done well against Tucson High Magnet School recently (they were 0-8-1 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Rincon/University blew past Tucson High Magnet School 4-1. Winning may never get old, but the Rangers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Salpointe Catholic's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-1. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those seven contests. As for Rincon/University, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4-2 record this season.

Salpointe Catholic was able to grind out a solid win over Rincon/University when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Salpointe Catholic since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
