Soccer Game Preview: East View vs. Del Valle

The East View Patriots will take on the Del Valle Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. East View's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

East View's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Cedar Creek 1-0. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 209th, while the Eagles are ranked 427th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

East View's one-goal win came courtesy of Eymard Diaz, which was the first he's scored this season.

Meanwhile, Del Valle unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They and Liberty Hill finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw. The result kept the Cardinals happy, as they haven't lost a game since January 4th.

Del Valle's draw makes their record 5-2-1 this season. As for East View, they now have a winning record of 3-2-2.
