Softball Recap: Skyline Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against San Juan, Skyline was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Grand County Red Devils, sneaking past 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since April 26, 2025.

Maya Jacobsen was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Skyline's victory bumped their record up to 6-16. As for Grand County, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Skyline will take on North Summit in a tournament on Saturday. The Braves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.54 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Grand County, they will venture away from home to challenge Bingham at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Red Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Miners have averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season.
