Volleyball Recap: Gulf Coast Wins Going Away Against Riverdale + How To Watch

Gulf Coast had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Riverdale Raiders on Thursday as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Sharks.

Gulf Coast's got stronger as the match went on, holding Riverdale to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-21, 25-14.

Gulf Coast can attribute much of their success to Cassandra Maldonado, who had 14 digs and four assists. Maldonado is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Gulf Coast was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. They are a perfect 18-0 when they serve at least ten aces.

Gulf Coast's record is now 21-5. As for Riverdale, their loss dropped their record down to 16-12.

Gulf Coast will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Raiders: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
