Kiel stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. Everything went their way against New Holstein as Kiel made off with a 13-0 win.

Cade Voelker made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Voelker was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Hunter Pitzen was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI, a triple, and a run. Another player making a difference was Grant Manz, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Brillion ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They skirted past Manitowoc Lutheran 8-7.

Like Kiel, Brillion also got a great game from a two-way player: Landon Mathes. He didn't allow a single earned run and only one hit over 4.1 innings pitched. Mathes has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive pitching appearances. Mathes was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5.

Mathes wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jaden Bastian, who went 2-for-5 with a stolen base and two RBI. Bastian has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive pitching appearances. Chase Braun was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing two bases.

Kiel pushed their record up to 14-3 with that victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Brillion, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Kiel has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Brillion struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.5. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Kiel beat Brillion 6-3 in their previous meeting back in May of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kiel since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
