Baseball Recap: Payson Gets the Win

Payson's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top against the ALA - Ironwood Warriors by a score of 5-1. The victory continues a trend for the Longhorns in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won three in a row.

The team relied heavily on Hunter Weinland, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Dudley, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Payson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Payson now has a winning record of 5-4. As for ALA - Ironwood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
