Soccer Recap: Merritt Island Christian Comes Up Short

After soaring to eight goals the game before, Merritt Island Christian was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They fell 3-1 to the Crooms Academy Panthers. The game was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but the Cougars couldn't quite close it out.

Their goal came courtesy of Abel Stricklin, who's now up to six this season.

Merritt Island Christian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7-1 record this season. As for Crooms Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-10.

Merritt Island Christian has already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Central Florida Christian Academy on the 24th. As for Crooms Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next game, a 4-2 victory against Umatilla on the 22nd.
