Recap: North Central Panthers vs. Zionsville Eagles
The North Central Panthers can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Zionsville out 58-55. The victory was all the more spectacular given North Central's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while Zionsville is ranked eighth).
North Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaiden Kreinhagen, who scored 20 points along with two steals. Kreinhagen continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Macy Loy was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with three steals.
Zionsville's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emma Haan, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Caroline Sampson, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and five assists.
North Central's victory bumped their record up to 6-14. As for Zionsville, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Central will take on Lawrence Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lawrence Central will be looking to extend their current 14-game winning streak. As for Zionsville, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Noblesville at 6:00 p.m. Noblesville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Zionsville likes a good challenge.
