Softball Recap: St. Ursula Academy's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

St. Ursula Academy entered their tilt with Edgewood on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Cougars. That's two games straight that the Arrows have won by just one run.

Brooke Bowers made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

Bowers wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Addison Witek, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

The win got St. Ursula Academy back to even at 4-4. As for Edgewood, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-7.

St. Ursula Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 13-8 victory against Fairport on the 16th. As for Edgewood, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 8-6 loss against Station Camp on the 17th.
