Preview: Newport Cubs vs. St. Helens Lions
Newport has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the St. Helens Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oregon (Newport is ranked 163rd, while St. Helens is ranked 149th).
Last Tuesday, Newport came up short against Tillamook and fell 49-38.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 61-34, which was the final score in St. Helens' tilt against Mountain View on Wednesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points St. Helens has scored all season.
