Softball Recap: University Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

After losing to Melbourne the last time they met, University decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Titans came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 8-5 on Saturday.

Kendra Lee spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 13 Ks.

At the plate, Jacquelyn Lara was a standout: she scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Mia Fisher also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

University was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Melbourne only posted a batting average of .241.

University is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for Melbourne, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

University wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Dwyer on the 5th. As for Melbourne, they have also already played their next contest, a 14-4 victory against Jensen Beach on the 5th.
