Volleyball Recap: Garfield Heights Takes a Loss

Garfield Heights was the 2-1 winner over Western Reserve Academy when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bulldogs fell 2-0 to the Pioneers on Saturday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-15.

Shamira Thigpen paced Garfield Heights' offense, picking up five kills. Thigpen got some help from Aniah Taylor and her five assists.

Garfield Heights has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Western Reserve Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-4.

Garfield Heights didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against Valley Forge on the 22nd. Western Reserve Academy has also already played their next contest (against Hawken), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
