Baseball Recap: Cherokee Trail Find Success

Cherokee Trail won the last time they faced Smoky Hill and things went their way on Monday too. The Cougars walked away with an 8-3 win over the Buffaloes. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Landon McWilliams was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with five RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Zimmerman, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

Cherokee Trail always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.

Cherokee Trail's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Smoky Hill, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.

Cherokee Trail wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 4-1 loss against Cherry Creek on the 22nd. As for Smoky Hill, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-8 win against Mullen on the 22nd.
