Recap: Wray Eagles vs. Sedgwick County Cougars

The Wray Eagles entered their tilt with the Sedgwick County Cougars with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Wray strolled past Sedgwick County with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 55-41. Given Wray's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 76th, while Sedgwick County is ranked 209th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Wray to victory were AB Ruiz and Aaron Tena. Ruiz dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds, while Tena scored 15 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Ruiz is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rafael Trejo, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Wray's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Sedgwick County, they dropped their record down to 6-11 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.
Wray will take on Heritage Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Heritage Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 contests -- so hopefully Wray likes a good challenge. As for Sedgwick County, they will head out on the road to challenge Briggsdale at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Briggsdale focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 last Saturday.
