Fountain Hills extended their winning streak to four on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 13-6-1 in the process. Everything went their way against the Phoenix Christian Cougars as they made off with a 9-1 victory. Considering the Falcons have won nine matchups by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Fountain Hills got a great performance from JJ Pena as he tossed 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Pena has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two hits in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Griffin Bos, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sam Barnard, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

As for Phoenix Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-4. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Phoenix Christian's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryne Viscum, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Coming up, Fountain Hills will challenge Scottsdale Preparatory Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in the Falcons' favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while the Spartans have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road. Phoenix Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
