Basketball Recap: Ridgemont Skates Past Calvary Christian with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ridgemont). They blew past the Calvary Christian Spartans 57-20 on Saturday. With the Golden Gophers ahead 38-10 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Laney Elsasser had an outrageously good game as she went 5 for 10 on her way to 14 points in addition to six steals and five assists. That's the most steals she has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Ruth Eckstein, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards.

Ridgemont's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Calvary Christian, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Ridgemont wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 48-34 loss against Elgin on the 9th. As for Calvary Christian, they will square off against Ridgedale at 2:30 p.m. on January 11th.
