Basketball Recap: Pahrump Valley Trojans vs. Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon Pirate
In what's become a running theme this season, the Pahrump Valley Trojans gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They blew past Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon 65-14 at home. While fans of Pahrump Valley might be used to big wins, the 51-point margin marked the team's biggest victory yet this season.
Paris Coleman was her usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with six rebounds and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kailani Martinez, who scored eight points along with seven steals and six rebounds.
Pahrump Valley pushed their record up to 23-2 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-17.
Pahrump Valley will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. The Meadows School will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nevada Rankings (they are ranked 68th, while the Trojans are ranked ninth). Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on February 5th.
