Recap: Marie Philip Galloping Ghosts vs. American School for the Deaf Tigers

The Marie Philip Galloping Ghosts won the last time they faced the American School for the Deaf Tigers, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Marie Philip walked away with a 56-44 win over American School for the Deaf. Marie Philip pushed the score to 47-21 by the end of the third, a deficit American School for the Deaf cut but never quite recovered from.

It was another big night for Xavier DeLeon, who almost dropped a triple-double on 34 points, nine rebounds, and nine steals. DeLeon is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominick Scanzillo, who scored 15 points along with two steals.

Marie Philip's victory bumped their record up to 15-3. As for American School for the Deaf, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marie Philip's road trip will continue as they head out to face Brimmer & May at 5:00 p.m. on January 26th. Brimmer & May and Marie Philip are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. American School for the Deaf won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against New York School for the Deaf at 5:00 p.m. on January 25th. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for New York School for the Deaf and four for American School for the Deaf.
